Human Fleas
Human flea or Pulex irritans belongs to the cosmopolitan flea species
and is known to have originated in South America. This flea species is
usually found on pigs, dogs, cats, chickens, black rats and any other
animals including domesticated ones. They often bite almost all species
of mammals and birds. The cat flea is the most common flea species to
bite humans.
Human fleas can be found in almost all countries in the world. Their
usual habitat is in the farm and pigs are their primary host. People who
works in the farm can easily pick up large numbers of fleas and the
infestation will start to spread even in their homes. Today, human fleas
become controllable since fewer people are working on farms than in
previous years. Generally speaking, human fleas become rare insects and
their domestic dwellings are far from what they've been before. However,
their existence is still constant and the fact that they have lived is
undeniable.

The bites of human flea can be in any
part of the body, they usually crawl over the skin and will leave a tiny
but very itchy red spot. The flea bite is often felt immediately, but it
does not hurt. Its the itchiness that will cause discomfort in the end.
