Differences between Ticks and Fleas
No one wants to be infected by blood sucking insects, because aside
from the fact that they feed on your blood, they are nasty and mostly
unwelcomed. Blood sucking insects such as ticks and fleas are two
species of parasite that live on blood of humans and animals. These
parasites are known to be the carrier of many diseases. Their bites can
cause rashes and skin infections on both humans and animals.
Even though most skin infections caused by these parasites aren't
deadly, they can be very alarming. However, when they start feeding on
your blood the first thing you need to do is to stop the infestation
before they spread out and affect other members of your family.
Ticks are external parasites that are often found on birds, mammals,
reptiles and amphibians. Their presence is unacceptable because they can
bring about disease such as Q-fever, Lyme and Tick-borne
meninggoencephalitis.

Ticks
There are over 900 species of ticks all over the world and their
existence is considered constant. There are two families of ticks, the
soft and the hard ticks.

Fleas
Fleas on the other hand are blood sucking
insects that live off the blood of mammals, birds and humans. The most
common species of fleas can be found in cats, dogs, pigs, rats and
humans. Attaching themselves to the body of the host is what ticks
usually do, just like fleas they can jump as well. Ticks are usually
found in tall grass and shrubs while fleas can be found in the homes of
most pet owners.
To control the population of both ticks and
fleas, the use of aerosol
or liquid sprays is highly recommended. If in case your pet is being
attacked by ticks or fleas the best thing to do is to consult a
veterinarian.
